faith, hope and love
this entry is inspired by how Jesus reignited my hope in Him overnight. I was feeling so down and so bone-weary, totally uninspired and unsure of whether i can go on running the race. Yet He in His mercy woke me up the next morning with a new hope and a new firmness in my step: this strange, renewed confidence to be able to follow Him. It was Him who gave me strength. For who can cry "Jesus, you're my Lord" unless the Holy Spirit enables him to?
Read this beautiful passage, doesn't it bring forth the sound of battle drums, every min quickening, every min getting louder in excitement. Oh the mounting excitement, the anticipation!
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if neccesary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith--more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire--may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation in Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you have not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
-1 Peter 1:3-9
What a mystery finally revealed, God's grand plan unveiled at last to us!
"In my Father's house there are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also."
(John 14:2-3)
